Who Are The Democrats and What Do They Stand For?

We want to increase the number of people who are eligible to vote and to reduce obstacles that dilute their votes, or that keep them from voting.

We want to limit “dark” money to fund “ghost candidates,” or to buy elections; to reform campaign financing to allow broader access to information outlets.

We want to help people work together, instead of dividing them into groups too small to win.

We want to protect the right of the people to peacefully assemble and voice their opinions, and protest their grievances.

Working Together to Defend our Democracy and Seek Justice for All

  • Affordable Health Care
  • A livable minimum wage
  • Safe and healthy workplace
  • Economic growth driven by fair competition and innovation
  • A clean and sustainable environment
  • Making it easy for ALL citizens to vote
  • Quality public schools
  • Affordable higher education
  • Ending discrimination in all forms
  • Preservation of our National Parks, forests, and recreation areas
  • Combating climate change
  • Sensible gun laws, including a civilian ban on assault weapons and stricter background checks
  • Protection of the right to peacefully assemble and protest
  • Keeping the United States safe through diplomacy and cooperation with our allies, backed by a strong military
  • Nations and organizations that promote democracy and defend human rights

Democrats Believe Government Should be FOR the People:

We want to fund improved and affordable health care, improved infrastructure, clean air and water, and pure and affordable food; not tax cuts for large corporations, and the wealthiest 1 percent, or pork projects for local districts.

We want to fund programs that educate, that provide quality childcare, and give people the tools and connectivity that will enable them to compete in today’s labor market.

We want to strengthen unions to negotiate on behalf of workers for higher wages and better and safer working conditions.

We want to reform the Justice System, with better education and training for law enforcement, more effective sentencing guidelines, and equal justice through greater sensitivity for racial and ethnic diversity.

We want to end all discrimination based on race, sex, gender, religion, disability, or ethnicity.

We want to reduce global warming, and fund renewable energy, to preserve our planet for future generations.

We want to protect our National Parks, Forests, Recreational Areas, and all living things within them.

We want to protect the lives of our citizens and their children through common-sense gun regulation.

We want to strengthen international diplomacy to reduce the risk of war; to support organizations that promote democracy and human rights.
